Grand Canyon – Grand Indeed
On the tourist map since it’s discovery and worn out with the stories of tourists and locals alike, the Grand Canyon is indeed grand for it’s magnificent rock formations that go down to almost a mile into the bowels of the earth. the Grand canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and is also of importance to paleontologists who have discovered tons of fossils among it’s walls. The rock formations on top are young, going down into the canyon you go down millions of years in the earth’s evolution. Not many people can appreciate the raw beauty of the place yet it was formed by the simplest of natural forces, water.
The Grand Canyon we know was formed by millions of years of erosion caused by the Colorado river that is now at the floor of the canyon itself. It also offers another attraction to people who love to kayak and ride the river as it meanders through the length of the canyon from the easiest to the most difficult rapids only experts attempt to ride. The canyon has many trails that leads tourists down it’s face as they go into history, on the walls are many fossilized remains of sea life, and other organisms long extinct as the earth evolved to it’s modern self. Need something new, try the newest addition to the sightseeing facilities, try the Skywalk, a glass bottomed bridge that juts out of the edge and over it showing the canyon below you as if you were floating on air.
