Mammoth Cave National Park
April 10th, 2009
Mammoth Cave National Park is located in south central Kentucky containing one of the most remarkable wonders of our planet, the longest cave system. The park is to establish and conserve the magnificent caves which has been around since 1972. The caves contain miles and miles of large rooms, rock formations, passages, draperies and other cave wonders. The National Park service provides about 10 miles of the cave system for simple hiking purposes but it also includes “wild” cave tours. The park also introduces visitors to its magnificent arrays of woodlands which are partly remnants of the great old growth forest that has once covered Kentucky.
